Province of Trapani and
Western Sicily
El Bahira Camping Village is an ideal place not only to relax in the marvellous Santa Margherita Bay, a stone's throw from San Vito lo Capo, but it can also be the base for a touring holiday to some of the most fascinating places in the Province of Trapani and Western Sicily.
There is so much to visit, and so many natural, historical and cultural destinations to enjoy.
San Vito lo Capo
The tourist destination par excellence. The sea is crystal clear, the sand white and very fine. Lots of restaurants, cafes and shops and many ways to spend your holiday in complete relaxation. In addition to its marvellous sea, San Vito lo Capo also offers wonderful climbing routes and events of international importance, such as the Cous Cous Fest, an annual festival dedicated to the typical Trapanese dish when singers and groups attract thousands of visitors.
Baia Santa Margherita and Cornino
Two sides of the same coin if we consider Mount Cofano as a reference point. Both beaches, in fact, skirt this wonderful Dolomitic mountain that rises from the sea. Unspoilt, even wild, places where you can enjoy peace and absolute relaxation. Crystal-clear waters, sand or pebbles, and wonderful paths that connect the two locations, passing through Cofano.
Erice
A marvel at 751 meters above sea level, where history and tradition can be breathed in full. A medieval town where you can lose yourself and travel back in time, with your eyes and your heart. Narrow, cobble-stone streets, architectural wonders in stone, a Duomo like few others, and a Castle that dominates the area. The Centro Ettore Maiorana, desserts and liqueurs with unique flavors, incredible views: Erice is truly a timeless, evocative place.
Trapani
In the shape of a scythe that acts as a watershed between the two seas, the Mediterranean and the Tyrrhenian, Trapani is a city of history and tradition with all the ingredients for an unforgettable holiday. The historic center is the ideal stop for visiting sites of cultural interest and enjoying the nightlife. Do not miss the prehistoric museum in the Tower of Ligny located at the tip of the city, the Pepoli museum, the hundreds of churches and the works created by the ancient corallian masters.
Favignana, Levanzo ande Marettimo
Three wonderful pearls in the Mediterranean. Three wild and suggestive islands, the Egadi Islands, with an absolutely pristine sea and enchanting coves that can be appreciated from the land but also from the sea by boat. Popular with tourists, especially in summer, they are places not to be missed.
The Zingaro Nature Reserve
A wild, uncontaminated area with numerous coves, home to various animal species and typical endemic plants.
Beyond the Zingaro Reserve is the picture-postcard Gulf of Castellamare with Scopello, a small fishing village from which it is possible to observe the suggestive faraglionis that rise from the crystal-clear waters, and Castellammare del Golfo with its imposing castle overlooking the sea.
Segesta
Segesta boasts an impressive Doric temple and an Archaeological Park of great historical and cultural importance that dominates the surrounding hillside. Every year these majestic masterpieces attract many tourists who want to immerse themselves in history. A real journey into the culture and emotions of the past.
Marsala and Mothia
Like Trapani, Marsala is a crossroads of cultures but also a place of considerable tourist interest. Known for having been Garibaldi's destination with his “Thousand” men, the city offers art, architecture, tradition but as well as a strong gastronomic heritage. Mothia, the largest island in the archipelago of the Riserva dello Stagnone, offers unparalleled natural landscapes as well as history.
